The OFFICIAL LEGENDS PACE CAR was introduced to Oval Track Legends in 2007 and is in keeping with the American idea of having a purpose built car to start races. The car is not in race trim, one of its main features is a modified front bumper which is partially foamed.
The Pace Car Pilot is equipped with a RACEceiver unit, he is in radio contact with the Race Steward so that during race stoppages he may be sent out to assist stranded cars.
Its probably a lesser known fact that Oval Track Legends do not carry a reverse gear. However, the Pace Car does! If and when race cars are in trouble, the Pace Car will readily assist, therefore increasing safety for the drivers and reducing accident damage.
